Hello,
This is my first set of chicks. One of my little fuzzy babies had pasty butt, so I gently cleaned her up with warm water on a Q-tip and applied a small amount of vaseline to help it. She is the smallest of the bunch and usually the loudest too, but when I cleaned her she was going nuts. I put her back in the brooder with the other chicks and she has been loudly complaining for the last hour or better. Any suggestions on how to help her calm down? I checked the temp in the brooder and it seems to be fine. I added a warm bottle of water for her to snuggle against if she was cold from her damp bum, and she has been snuggling it but still chirping loudly.
