Hi...I went on holiday and left my 6 chicks with a friend. I came back to find one limping badly, choosing to flutter when possible rather than walk, but able to stand and walk a little bit. The upper leg joint is badly swollen and red/ warm, but the foot is not. I have brought her in today as she is getting worse rather than better, and she is back under the heat lamp in a box! (She is 3 weeks old). After reading around I have mixed oregano in her food, which she is eating well. I rubbed arnica into the joint this morning, and at lunch time I started to again and she stuck her leg out for me to reach better and started singing at me!!!! So I guess that is working for cooling/pain relief!! Is there anything else I can be doing? She is eating g and drinking well, but sleeps the rest of the time....apart from the last hour when she had been very vocal! I'm going to try and attach a photo of her upper leg sticking out!
