My adult cochin was attacked yesterday. Tail ripped almost off...hanging by some skin and back is open but wasn't bleeding. Applied First aid: cleaned, sprayed with antibiotic, gave electrolyte and isolated in warm place. She was alert, pooped and ate a bit.
This morning, found she had pooped and laid an egg!! But, she is somewhat lethargic and not willing to eat. I cleaned her back again, etc. She still has her head up and when I open the kennel she eventually walks out to me.
I found, however, a lump by her breast bone....almost by her crop..and am somewhat concerned about that!
Also, I wonder if I should keep "holding up" her tail with the gauze and ace...not tight but just enough that it's not dragging.
I gave her some aspirin this morning....
Her back is dry and clean....
Will she not only survive but will her tail get back... she's my little sweetheart and still softly clucks when I talk to her...her name is Jazmine
Any advice is welcomed and so appreciated
Thanks

Yes... I just got some this morning and used it when I cleaned her..
Thanks
I would be using the vetericyn instead of the bandages.
I'm glad you separated her. You don't want flies getting to her.
If she isn't eating, you may want to try a mash.
I would've done the same as you, bringing her inside, electrolytes, and cleaning the wound.
I hope she continues to improve!
