X4 on the bridge, but the homes on the hillside a lovely too.
Do you know what was blooming to give that purplish tinge?
She's probably traveling as that was her last day. I'm thinking (and I could be wrong) that the purple stuff is "heather" or "heath".

And Kassaundra, those are some very lovely photos too!

Yes! Were back in the UK!
The purple on the ground is like a campion but the purple on the hillside is a tree, will have to find out what sort! As you liked the bridges here are 2 more.
Loved your pictures Kasaundra , you will have to come too next time!

@fenrosie, glad you are all home and safe. These bridges are works of art, could you imagine using long fabric strips cut into 8" lengths and then trying to get them to curve like the arches on these bridges....
I think that that the tree looks like an American redbud, cercis canadensis. I had a Forest Pansy variety but our dog, then a pup kept chewing until he had girdled it.

I can just imagine me and my knight in shining armor riding on horse back under the bridge to our secret hiding place to enjoy a private picnic lunch this was for the first bridge, I love all the pictures and Kassaundra love your flower pics and waterfalls very nice capture of the water.

I don't think fenrosie will mind me saying but you are looking at a direct descendant of Abe Lincoln, her DH, can't remember how but it's there.

Yes, his great great grandmother was Lincolns first cousin, he looks more like him every day!
One funny story...he got asked to come to USA to campaign against GMO s. At a talk in Chicago University he quoted Ab, the land of the free etc. the man from Monsanto sitting in the front row was puce with Anger and jumped up and shouted " what right have you, to come to our country and quote our most enimate statesman ? " When Peter explained his connection the room erupted into laughter!

Check out his web site, no it's not me in the picture but a dragon from our "dragons den" TV program

I now have 1/2 of the blocks done, 6 of the one pattern I posted the pic of. Now for the 2nd set of 6, it is from a harder pattern.

I am glad I did them in applique, but do not think I am a life long convert to the technique.

If I finish the next 6 in time and have some time, I may attempt a second set this one of foundation paper piecing. I created a rooster pattern just in case.
