Chicken block swap due June 15th

When I hosted crochet block swaps I would sometimes have people request a specific block of theirs to be their return block. I was hoping not to get any of mine back, I made one extra of the different blocks for myself, and I think we have the perfect number of swappers to get one from everyone except yourself.

Just make some extra ones and keep the ones you want. I do the same as kassaundra. I think it would be hard for a swap leader to accommodate all kinds of different requests.

Very good then... that's what I'll do. Thanks ladies.

Where do we send them when we are finished? I'm going to get mine out today. What are you all mailing them in? I'm almost afraid to send them in an envelope. Just in case it gets torn or something.

The post office has an envelope that is a light cardboard material. I've never had one get torn. I usually fold mine to fit into a gallon zip lock bag and put them inside one of the cardboard envelopes. They also have one that's more of a paper envelope but is lined with plastic on the inside or a thin bubble wrap material.

Thanks Lacy Blues! I will look and see what they have. Is the address posted somewhere?

They also have a Tyvek one but they usually keep them behind the desk. You can also order them on line at the USPS website... they are free.... or at least they were. They only send out two at a time. It is a very tough envelope. I mailed a western curb bit in one of them, though I did wrap it in bubble wrap too.

My shoulder surgery is much better but a long way from being healed. The Dr said it is a full year for full recovery. I'm heavy into Physical Therapy now and probably could finally sew something smaller. What I really need is pull up pants as I can not button my jeans yet, so guess I should get to work on some of those. I've got one of those bodies that has a very hard time buying pants that fit. The crotches on purchased pants feel like they come half way to my knees.

Enjoy your quilts.

What about doing a certain size throw pillow cover that goes on and comes off for washing. It would be a real quick make and then could be shipped without the pillow form.

I'd love to have several chicken squares for a table center on my kitchen table... a runner, or some such thing too. Somewhere between 4 and 9 would work very well.

Personally, I have SO much Christmas stuff that I am going to have to yard sale some of my cute stuff. Just way too much to keep it all. Something like that would get us a start on Christmas sewing however.

On the shipping... put the address it is being sent to inside of the package, attached to the blocks. That way, if the packaging rips, they know where it is supposed to go and it won't end up in the dead letter department.

Thank you RustyHen! I still have 3 more to make plus stitch around the applique. I may be a little late getting mine there by the 15th. I'm going to do my best to get them in the mail on Sat. I have to work 12 hrs tomorrow, so no sewing. I hope this isn't going to present a problem. If I don't get them in the mail on Sat, I will overnight them on Mon. I'm excited to see what everyone is doing!!

Don't over night them no hurry lots still are working on theirs, the date is just a target that we seldom hit

Just finished block #9 tonight. Three to go! Woo hooo! I have no idea though what they will be.

Hey, would it be completely socially unacceptable to ask for a specific block to be sent back to me? I have a couple favorites and it will be kind of hard to choose so I was just wondering.
tag it and the sorting fairy will do her work a couple requests I can handle, but your are right the sorting fairy would be overwhelmed.
