Chicken Breathing Issue

I just came back in from checking on her and she seems perfectly normal now

I am wondering if she had something not sitting right in here crop yesterday. I will keep a close eye on her but looks like we dodged a bullet this time.

Thanks for your thoughts on this, it was an odd one for me for sure. Also @Eggcessive the air sac idea was interesting and I read up on that a little so thanks! I had no ideas that was a thing.

I just tagged a couple of knowledgeable folks to see if they have dealt with this. Now that she is better, I wonder if she got some air in her crop, and now it’s gone. Another mystery on BYC. Glad she is fine now.

Oh I had not considered they could get air in their crop!

If it were a ruptured air sac, you could put your ear to either side of her body and listen for a whistling sound which would indicate a rupture. I'm glad your hen is doing better.
