Chicken Breed Focus - Ameraucana

Pics
@NaturalHens : Your babies are ADORABLE, and so is your daughter!
I honestly love crossbreeding just to see the results! I'm surprised to see that your chicks look lavender! How is that so?
Does the color pull stronger from Darla? Or is your Buff a lavender color? I'm still learning about how chicken genetics work. Genetics in general are fun~

@RubyPriestess Thank you! The babies are lavender, Darla is a black split to lavender and the orp is lavender. I agree, the genetics are fun!

The very light blue is from a cream crested legbar but the other blue/green ones are araucanas :)

Petunia and Hyacinth. They're hatch mates. I expect Hyacinth to be an olive egger. They're due to lay any day now. They're from a pen containing black copper marans and easter eggers. Just love them. I have a total of 9 of these mixed birds, plus Lucy, from another breeder (I think she's full Ameraucana and part of a BBS hatch, her hatch mate was splash)

Lucy and her hatch mate. He sadly died much too young. His heart was enlarged and his body was filled with clear fluid.

Good luck with the Legbar hatch, another wonderful colored egg layer!
Thanks you so much. It's going well. All have nice embryos growing inside. With my candaler you can see heart beating and some movement in the egg's. 9 more days

My daughter breeds raises and shows bantam Ameraucanas and LOVES them dearly.
It's wonderful to see children working with and showing poultry and it looks like she's doing well with them!
