Chicken breeders or Folks in South Africa?

thanks @Nanna34 , I think we will have to lol, we have about 230 chicks now so we switching of the incubator for now, our worker walked out on us and went back to Zimbabwe without saying anything so we have been stressing, had to ask our neighbour to look after the chickens till we got the quail and Stella went back today.

@Nandene, really hope your roo makes it! Give the meds to all your remaining chickens asap, you might be able to save them this way. I don't think its Newcastles, because that's a viral disease and the meds wouldn't be helping then. We have it in the Cape and a friend of mine also just lost all his 80 chooks to it. Mine are thankfully vaccinated. I believe in vaccinating against EVERYTHING you can and QUARANTINING before you introduce new chickens to your flock! But that doesn't help you now. Just keep doing what you re doing and let us know what happens! Best of luck, we all feel for you!!

It doesn't really seem like our chickens have the same disease. His chickens has all the symptoms of newcastles disease. My rooster only had fever, dosed off and has that ruffling breathing. Rooi-Jan, as I call him now, started crowing again this morning, and now it seems like he is trying to catch up on the past three days lol. He started eating again and flapping his wings. The other chickens are still good.

My poor neighbour are devastated. He had about 30 chickens and about 40 chicks... 1 chick are still kicking. I don't know about the other 4 yet. Didn't go there yet this morning.

I have a chick coop and a quarantine coop on my bucketlist. But don't have the funds for either yet. I quess I'll have to hold on to my young roos for awhile longer. I need to get a fence as well, as I keep on losing chickens due to other people's dogs not staying where they should. One step at a time, we'll get there. Thanks for the advice.
