chicken can't walk

Hi! I have a 4 1/2 month old light brahma cockerel. His name is Bubbles. Yesterday, he was fine, practicing his crowing, scratchin around, acting like a normal chicken, ect. But this morning, i found that he cant stand, or walk! He is eating and drinking normally, seems to be breathing fine, too. What does he have? What should i do? Is this contagious to my other chickens? Thanks!

Could he have been injured? Start some poultry vitamins (make sure it contains riboflavin/vitamin B2) in his water just in case of a vitamin deficiency. Do you know if he was vaccinated for Mareks disease? Mareks can cause weakness of one or both legs or wings, and can cause a lot more symptoms including tumors later on. Hopefully it is not Mareks. Here is some information about Mareks and vitamin deficiency:

I examined his toes and legs. They didnt appear injured, however when i tried to bend his toes he screamed. I set him back down and he just layed there. I tried to bend his toe again, he screamed, the 3rd time i tried it, he didnt seem to care. So i dont know if its an injury or something else. Dont think he was vaccinated, but then again im not sure...but i will definetly look at those links! Thanks! :)

TheChickInn29, I'm just starting this, too. I got this info from an earlier post. This is the vitamin mentioned WITHOUT IRON. I got mine from CVS. Hope it helps.

Most poultry vitamins are sold at feed stores, and they go in the water.

I have some questions. When chickens come down with mareks, do they always end up dying? And what does it look like when a chicken has mareks disease? Thanks
