One of my Buff Orpington hens has a pale comb and is every once in a while lightly shaking her head as if a fly or other bug is bothering her. Mites? I have checked the hens and I don't see any on them and this hen is the only one with a pale comb. Help please...

Pale comb isn't always a big concern. Birds that are molting will have a shrunken/pale comb - because they aren't currently productive. Molt normally comes at any time after the summer solstice.
It could be lice or mites but could be so many other things.

How old is she, and is she laying eggs? The northern fowl mite can be seen on the chicken anytime, while the red mite may only come onto them at night, but mite "dirt" may be seen on the skin. A picture of her may help. Head shaking may be due to lice or mites, something in her ear, or respiratory infection, but some hens will shake heads when new feathers are growing in. Has she started her yearly molt yet? You may want to think about worming her with Valbazen 1/2-3/4 ml orally, and repeat in 10 days in case of capillary or other worms. Here is a good link to read with pictures about lice and mites, and what to look for:
