That is why so many attacked birds have eye and ear damage. The predator trying to over power a struggling chicken may also cause bill damage and tear comb and wattles.

Damage like your bird is neither self inflicted nor caused by another chicken.

I cant see how it would be possible.. a chicken cant even stick its head out of the run and there is no access point for a predator. its very secure.

Let the first coat dry and apply another if you don't think you've achieved a good coverage. You need to cover all the wound as I mention in the article.
