Hi everyone,

My chickens are around 17 weeks old. Their combs are just starting to grow. Recently one of my chickens comb looks dry and shriveled. I attempted to attach a picture so we will see if it works. I know that their combs can indicate a health issue so wanted to see what you all thought. Everything else about her is fine (activity, eating, drinking, pooping).

Try vaseline or baby oil on the comb. The fact that it appeared shriveled makes me want to think mite or parasite, but normal/fine activity makes me think otherwise. Was her comb already developing, then started to look dry/shrunken? Or is it just starting to develop? My Leghorns have had me scared when a few started having flopped-over, pale combs as they began developing. They all turned out fine and even won best of class at show. What breed are they?
