Yeah I don't consider 12 SECONDS at a time a good, not at all a good, amount of time for getting any quality or quantity of video. Not even for non subscribed usage. Not worth the effort downloading 12 seconds of video at a time. Might as well just take the card out put in another and take the card that was in it. Seems faster.Well, yes, it is completely honest. Because I've been using the cameras for 3 years and I don't have a subscription.
And I have the run cam set up to record on motion between specific hours of the night. I have lots and lots of videos that I've watched and I have downloaded from the Wyze app directly to YouTube or my phone. I've never removed an SD card from my camera.
Granted it only records in 12 seconds intervals but that's more than enough for me to see what was going on.
They give you 12 seconds just so you can see bits and want to make it easier by getting the paid subscription.
Either way I'm not gonna bother. I have IP cams all over. Plus the cell cams I use with ewelink.
Although I did want to try the SONOFF version.
