Hello all,

I had an idea hit me yesterday after watching a Justin Rhodes video. Right now I have 10 chickens over a 1/4 city backyard. I use 4x12x12" raised garden beds in my back yard to grow vegetables. I want to place coops over two new raised beds and slowly add hardwood mulch over the next 5 months for new beds in April. My question is do you think that 5 chickens over a 48sq ft bed with wood chips will be too much nitrogen for the beds come next spring?

I'm including a picture of my concept.

I’d hinge the coop over one. Make the front of the bottom box drop down, so you can reach in with a rake turn stuff around. Then you can move the nitrogen rich soil over to the other boxes controlling its distribution as needed.
