I am new to chickens and have a Bantam and a Rhode Island. My latest question is concerning their crops. My chickens seem healthy and happy are are laying daily. Today I noticed that their crops seemed quite full and pretty firm. Is this normal or should they be much softer??? I feed them pellets and they have a series of treats each day. Any ideas here? I am such a worrier so need to make sure this is normal.

It's normal for it to feel so full, especially at the end of the day. If you check it first thing in the morning it should feel considerably smaller.

Yes as the other reply said - sounds normal. Maybe they know something you don't and are saving up for bad times ahead!

if it continues to stay hard
they give eye dropper of olive oil
place eyee dropper to back of throat so it goes into the crop
