I would eat it, BUT I would not eat anything like what the OP was asking about. What if your hubby accidentally drops a log on ones head and then it dies. Like someone mentioned it wont bleed out so what will it taste like.

Some people eat roead killAre you guys kidding? That's gross. Like eating road-kill.
If she was healthy the day before, I'd try. But I'd be suspicious too. What about if it freezes to death over night? I know that’s not the op question, but a very real possibility this morning.
Thank you! I just got back inside and everyone’s alive! We have four young hens that haven’t been introduced to the flock yet and they are in a tractor. I was a bit nervous that they were too exposed. Phew. Looks like that’s the coldest we’ll be for a while so hopefully by next cold spell they’ll be in with the flock! Thanks againIf she was healthy the day before, I'd try. But I'd be suspicious too.
Bigger concern is why she froze. Weather proof the coop more. Wind blocks. Chickens are freeze resistant but have to have dry, wind resistant areas to fluff up and stay warm.
Hope your birds are doing well.
