I don't know it was under a broody chicken 24 7 except for when we had to force feed here food and water she nearly killed herself on the nest! Yes it was a chicken egg. If you want to see my homemade incubator that also hatched chick's let me know and I can tell you how to make it.
Have you ever hatched chick's before because there is certain ways to prepare and egg before incubating. No washing store it for about 3 hours in room temp and then put it in a incubater with the correct temp and humidity turn it everyday and keep in mind that a lot of eggs are duds and will not develop.

Well I used a reptile heating pad and a jam jar and a lid then used a hydrometer and a thermometer to monitor it. Can you tell me which YouTube video you based your incubator off of?

Well, kind of a mix of things. I took a plastic tote box, and lined it with foam insulation. I has a (40 or 57? don't remember) watt bulb as a heat source. A little dish of water was put in for humidity. I wanted it to be a circulated air incubator, so I also put in a computer fan. I think that's about it.

Edit: and a thermometer and hygrometer of course.

So it is 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit and forty to fifty percent humidity? Are you turning the egg? Can you send a picture?
