Chicken foot problem

I hate to say this and maybe you should not, but in the area i highlighted can you try to sanitize that area and use a needle as if to lance an infection and see if it drains any puss? does it feel like there is liquid in it or is hard like a rock?

Guys I'm not being rude but I am in England and I need to go to bed. Please keep your advice coming and thank you for getting involved.

That took longer than a week to form/grow.

What does it look like where it is attached to the leg.
I'd keep wetting it there and pull back the feathers(or whatever) to get a better look.
I know it took longer than a week but I hadn't noticed any change in her until last few days when I investigated. Hard to tell where it is attached. Tomorrow I'll be having a long session with her bathing her foot to see what exactly is going on.

That's fine....nighty night!

Good to add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

If the chicken is a feather footed breed, then a feather or several could be growing under the skin just like a hair ball on a human head.
This mass needs to be removed.
As you soak it, perhaps you can remove some of the feathers to disclose more of what is under the feathers.
Start her on some antibiotics for the infection.
