Chicken found featherless and dead? What happened?

Hi guys,

A friend of mine has some chickens and the other day she found one featherless and dead in its cage. On the other side of the yard was a pile of its feathers (fairly big yard so it was pretty far from the cage, maybe 100m?)

There were no puncture wounds and no blood?

Its doubtful that someone played a prank on them cause they dont have many neighbours etc

Please respond promptly!! Don't want this happening to the other chickens!!
