Were gonna see if she survives the night with her treatment.
I think we have ruled out killing her unless she gets worse and seems to be suffering, I don't want her to suffer but I want to keep her alive if at all possible.

If you can get Hibiclens chlorhexidene or Betadine (Equate First Aid Antiseptic) at Walmart or a pharmacy, those are good disinfectants to use twice a day to clean the wounds (use with water and follow label insteuctions.) Then apply your antibiotic ointment twice a day to keep the wound mosit and prevent infection. These wounds can fill in a heal together in a few weeks. There can be squeezing and shaking with a predator attack, and sometimes internal injuries or a punctured air sac may occur. Try to get her drinking water and offer some wet chicken feed with some bits of scrambled egg or tuna to coax her to eat. Drinking is most important at first.

Best wound care is to keep the wound moist for best healing. I'm and RN with lots of wound experience, get Vetericyn spray and use triple antibiotic ointment, then use wet to dry dressing, wet the gauze with STERILE saline (Walgreen or Walmart, not saline for eyes) don't wet too much and squeeze out but leave moist, then cover with more DRY gauze. Use Vet wrap (horse wrap) and wrap around the hen, not too tight just to keep everything in place and covered. Please do not use Betadine, it kills new tissue. I would also get some FishMox ASAP, it's available online, it's actually amoxicillin you can get without a prescription. I always have some on hand (just in case)... We're all here for you!

Also an RN, and Betadine povidone iodine is a very good disinfectant for wounds, skin, and is used in surgery. The usual strength used is 5% for first aid. Here is some reading about it:

Chlorhexidene is becoming more popular in use. Vetericyn/Theracyn or similar wound spray is fine to use, but expensive. If pus or a bad odor occurs I would use some Betadine or Chlorhexidene as the labels state for a couple of treatments.

I like the Vetericyn is in a convenient spray bottle already.The Vetericyn healed my Mabel's deep raccoon wounds so fast that I'm a believer in it.
I wonder what is in Vetericyn that is so good.
