I have a large 2.5' x 3' cage (completely reinforced top and bottom with 1/2" x 1/2" hardware cloth) that I use as a broody breaking cage. When I've got a broody I don't want to be broody, I put her in there with food and water. Usually 4-5 days locked in the cage breaks the broody cycle. Make sure any cage you use is big enough for the hen to stand up in and move around.
The problem with just locking her out of the coop and run is that she might continue to brood on the ground.
Definitely broody. I have one that is broody and we put eggs under but turned out none of them were fertile so now we have to deal with no chicks while she gets over it.
