Chicken having vision problems

This is my Leghorn hen. She has had a small pupil since I got her (as a POL). It never gets bigger unlike her other pupil. Does this mean she's blind?

This pinpoint pupil looks like ocular Mareks disease.

I forgot about this thread...she didn't end up making it . She kind of just gave up in the end

Sorry for your loss. Did you try to get a necropsy on her to find out what was wrong?

But she's going to turn 2 years old in a month or two and I didn't have any chickens die. Or any showing symtoms of this disease

Have you added any new birds recently in the last months? Testing or a necropsy would be the only way to confirm ocular Mareks. Ocular Mareks is only one type of Mareks disease. I am not a vet, so it could be possible that she got an eye injury that caused this, but here is what ocular Mareks looks like:

No, I didn't. I buried her after she died.

Her eye looks like just a hen in my friend’s flock who has ocular Marek’s. That hen has lived years with the pinpoint eye, some strains of Marek’s are much less fatal than others. However, they’re all still very contagious.
