Not sure if I am looking for advice; maybe just need to share with other chicken lovers. We came home today to find that our Lottie had been hit by a car. It appears her left leg is broken. She actually has hopped around on one leg a bit. My concerns are that she may have other internal injuries or that the other hens may peck her. I saw a bit of it when she was still out in the yard. We put her into the coop alone and she was able to get onto the roost. However, when the others came in at twilight, one of them knocked her down to the floor. Any thoughts/comments/advice? This was just the last in a string of bad experiences today. I am feeling so sad and so sorry for her. Maybe this will motivate my husband to build the chicken tractor we have discussed.

can you seperate her in a cage for a couple days to heal? sorry to hear about this

I suppose I could try that. If the others bother her today, I will separate her. I let them out of the coop early this morning. They are in the run and she stayed inside the coop. After coffee, will check on her again. Thanks for the advice. Happy Memorial weekend!
