Well today is a new day in the Hen house, took the Barr Rooster back and traded for a Orrington he is sweet and shy.I think I will like this one. the ladies want to boss, but I think he'll put them in line in a few days. The Barr Rock just got to aggressive for me ,I never could keep my back turn on him. so sorry....

You did the right thing!

I am sorry to say that not all roosters can be broken of attacking humans once they start. Personally I do not tolerate aggresive roos at all, I have small children and will not have them frightened of the chickens. Roosters are easy to come by and it can take a bit longer but it is usually easy to find a nice docile breed of roo.
I am glad that you were able to get a more gentle roo. I think you will love the Orpington, they are great birds!

I think I will also, but I have a problem the girls are not accepting him . he did not leave the coop this morning stayed with the nesting hens ? I hope maybe they will be better today. Thank you for your advice: it was nice talking to you.

Give them some time. They have had some big changes. Try throwing out some mealworms of some scratch and give him a chance to show the ladies how a gentleroo behaves LOL! They will warm up to him, and if he is young he probably needs some time to understand his job. Orpingtons develop much slower than other breeds.

Just a few words from the hen house, the hens are doing great I have 18 Hens One Rooster. He is a nice Rooster and steers away from me. I talk to him and he seems to like me . The Hens have stop laying ,I get Two to Three eggs a day lol. I would like to thank ya for all the advice.

Today is the 13th of Feb. My hens are laying good again two hen s were setting on eggs that were fertilized by the Barr Rock Roo and I had my first Babies. I had Four Pure Barr Rocks and one Sex link Barr Rock That was five, then another hen hatch out six . She is a Sex link also, had five yellow chicks and one black chick . now I am back up to Thirty Chicks.LoL.... I do luv my chickens and all my friends ..Thanks for Everything!!!!!!
