Chicken infested with tiny white worms

WARNING GRAPHIC INFORMATION.This sounds like the worms are maggots. I had this problem with my male maltese dog last summer. Scared me half to death bc they were just pouring out of his anal area by the hundreds. So we rushed him to the ER for fear they were killing him. It was from flies that laid eggs on his anal area when he was outside in his playpen and had pooed on himself. This sounds exactly like your chicken's problem.His anus was very red and swollen. I don't know what you would give to a chicken to kill them, but the doctor treated my dog with Capstar which is a flea medication that kills immediately-within a half hour. He was followed up with antibiotics and had bad scabs from the maggots eating on his skin that took several months to completely heal, so we had to keep him in a medical collar to keep him from licking. The medical staff said this is prevalent in a fly infested area like we have every summer here.You probably need to take her to a vet to be treated as birds are so much more sensitive. Good luck and I sure hope she makes it through this ordeal.

Maggots are fly larvae. Flies lay their eggs in poo or on open sores or wounds. I'm having a HUGE fly problem now around my duck pen and after the experience with my dog, I am vigilant as possible around the birds. Never want a repeat of this again. I wouldn't put my dogs out in the yard after this incident with my Maltese for almost a year and still not often. My poor boy suffered alot from this.

Well it did turn out to be maggots. I cleaned her up and powdered her with chicken powder. It worked to kill the maggots. But I am still having trouble with her having poopy but. She keeps having her poop stuck to her freathers. I keep cleaning them, but it just get worse. I do not know what it could be from. Any help is totally appreciated.

Has she been wormed? Or treated with Corid for coccidiosis? What does her diet consist of?

I feed her organic peek and feed. I had treated her for worms when I thought the maggots were worms. But not corrid. My other chicken eats the same diet and she is healthy and happy. So not sure what else to do.
