Chicken just showed up?? ****NOW "Big Chickens Story" a story of a found chicken***lol

That sounds a lot better...what ever you do please don't lunge or jump at her..

I would sit down on a stool and see if I could slowly wave my hand over her...she may even. Squat for you..
Honestly I wouldn't force any issues at all

Id save her band and do it tonight...I wouldn't. Try to hold her during the day til she LETS you...I can hold king while she's roosting but I don't try to touch her during the day..when she gets ready to start laying she will start paying attention to me...then she will lets me.

If it were me I would not attempt ..just save hers for tonight

Your story is a good one...you found her lost and wondering ...gave her a home....looked for the previous owner...had her given (LOL) to you...and now she's getting comfortable ...she's cleared some huge chicken hurdles ...I'm proud of both of you

Can I just say squatting isn't for you to pick them up, there are two reasons chickens squat

1. They are submissing to a rooster

2. They are scared, if you have ever seen a fox attack the chicken will run and flap but after a while it will simply squat and get taken

Yes....I was aware of the first reason...I have no roosters....LOL..they think I'm the rooster...yes it is a submission pose..but the fox thing is one IV never and hope never see

besides....when and where did i ever state that they squat to be picked up?
I state what I experience...or what I would do if it were my situation.
When my pullets get ready to lay they follow me around and squat...clearly I am not a roo but I do positive reaction and scritch their backs and pat their fluff for their efforts.
I don't know why you feel the need to add a text book correction to my real life experience.'

Nope...only have one that will let me HOLD her...but I can touch the others when they squat for me...I raised them all from chicks and my Easter eggers were always stand offish til the got to point of lay

I did a bit of research and I'd say that
she is an ameracauna pullet...my bet is she will blue eggs.
