Chicken just showed up?? ****NOW "Big Chickens Story" a story of a found chicken***lol

I agree she's an easter egger hen, but I'm not sure she's that old. The comb doesn't look very red to me, meaning she's not laying. She doesn't look like she's molting, so my thought is she's just too young.

I think she'll do fine with your birds, but it will probably take weeks for her to settle in. Lots of time, a fair amount of food, and she'll be just one of the girls.

I cant even see a comb on her lol!! much less the color. I was five feet away but couldnt see it. So it must be real small? And your right no molt. And around here I should see some by now. Heck it dint make it above 50 today. Im just guessing on age by size compared to my 8 month old Orps. Who by the way havent laid yet either. Ones comb is very read and large and the others is small and pink. Im only used to the breeds i was raised with....Pretty much just RIR's. But the ones they have now. Even the "Heritage" dont look like my great grammas!

Well seems like today "Big Chicken" might be turning a corner. Only took her about 30 min to come out of the coop. And this after noon when i went out to throw out some scratch she had come back in the yard with the flock!! She was not mingling with them but she was on the outskirts. When i tossed the scratch for one second i thought she was going to get some but then she ran off. Went back outside the fence to her little hidey hole. lol. Im going to give her a little more time tonight to find her way in on her own before herding her in. We shall see. AND I GOT MY FIRST EGG!!! Miss Lacy is a hen now! My buff Orpington. Decent size for a first egg. ;-)

Sooooo much progress today with "Big Chicken" ( hey its fits for a name lol) She still does not interact with the flock but this evening she came in the yard with them and even rested under the porch next to a few and just a few feet from me!! When i talk to her she looks at me now. But when i threw out scratch she ran away again. Not sure if its the noise of the flock running around trying to get the best bits or what. I have a few girls that chase her. When she sees them coming she runs. But most just ignore her. She went into the coop on her own about 30 min before the rest. When the others went in there was a bit of a ruckus and she came back out. You could see she was anxious. But she got up the nerve to go back in. Im proud of her!! Looking forward to what tomorrow holds for Big Chicken and the flock! Oh...and still no owner stepping forward. I have put out adds and put out the word. Makes me wonder if someone has a large flock somewhere and does not know they are missing a chicken? Or if a coop got destroyed and they assumed all died. Seems like someone would know/say something though. It would be sad to get her all calmed down and integrated just to have the owner show up. But either way im just glad she survived whatever her trama was. Hoooray for Big Chicken!!

Thank you!!! I loved hearing her sing the "I just laid an egg song"! Heard it all the way in the house lol. And I am going to try and get some better pics of Big Chicken tomorrow if she will let me any closer with the camera than last time. If I do i will post em!! Gotta get some updated pics of my RIR's for my other post as well lol. With I could get em to be still long enough!!

Ok. Got a few more pics. Little better but because you have to hold my camera so still when its in super zoom Still not great lol. She came a bit closer during scrap time and at a piece of waffle!! But later turned her nose up at the cherry tomatoes.
