Chicken just showed up?? ****NOW "Big Chickens Story" a story of a found chicken***lol

OMG I am home sick from work today, and came across this thread, and it was just what I needed. What a great story and you are such a wonderful story teller. My heart sank when I read the description of Big Chickens previous owner and living conditions, not to mention that BC remembered him!. I felt sure he would not feel for you or BC, and want his bird back having no heart for animals well being at all. What a hoot to read that you refused to help him catch that bird. Not just once but several times. I'm impressed you stood your ground. Pls. you need to write a children's book about this lucky gal. Thank you for such a wonderful story. Bless you and Big Chicken.

That is a good thought!
I had already thought of that. That is why I asked him to bring pictures of her at his place. SInce he left I have looked him up. I wont say his name and cause trouble but he sells "Free range, organic, Non GMO" eggs. And they are all easter egger type eggs. He does not advertise here though. He advertises in another state.

Thank you!! And welcome to Big Chickens thread!! Its been two weeks now since she found us and I love her being here. Just adds more character to my rag tag bunch. Im glad you found pleasure in reading about her. I plan to continue her thread and YES I am working on a book. I discussed it earlier in the thread and settled on the title "Big Chickens big adventure" Just trying to decide how she left the place. Was it a hawk? Someone stole her and she got away? Or did she just get tired of it all and strike out on her own lol. (image of a chicken with a hobo stick over her shoulder comes to mind on that one) I am just glad she picked us. And cant wait to see her progress as time goes by.

Way to go!! Now you know why she's very leery of people......

Big chicken has chosen you, Sue

Wow I missed a lot since last night! As I started from where I left off I got nervous when you said he was going over with pictures. I think you had every right to not help him. He wanted her back because she was pretty, not because he liked her or was attached-but pretty. And why would he assume you would just pick her up and say "here take her"? I would've laughed watching him run around too! HAHA!

BTW my chickens don't have grass either. They don't have to have grass to eat good. The other descriptions sound awful but don't knock those that don't have grass.

And finally-please be careful of him in the future. Watch your wooded area for awhile and make sure no one can enter your property at night. Stay safe and I am dancing with you!!!!!

I don't mean to knock those with no grass!! Sorry if it came out like that. It was just part of the description. I was trying to pass on a visual of hundreds of chickens crammed on one acre in what looked like a concentration camp!! lol Then add the visual of what that would look like in Missouri mud after days of rain. As for him sneaking in....lol. we have three dogs that run at night. I hope he tries that!!

I have a Wyandotte hen that I hatched and she's a bit of a loner, the Roos always try and tread her so she keeps away a bit, but I find the loners the the nicest chickens, they normally prefer human interaction the the end, like my Wyandotte called Winnie. She gets on fine when she is with them but she prefers herself as company, but I love her, she is so funny and gets distracted so easily so the flock moves f and she's left on her own so she tags along with my Phoenix trio who are attacked by her flock so they fly out the way but they like her so they tag along together. Often if you get a new chicken that is more timid than her is she dominates it she will get more confidence and if they become friends they will give each other confidence
