Chicken just showed up?? ****NOW "Big Chickens Story" a story of a found chicken***lol

Yeah the "guy" called em Easter eggers. And I would love to see her colored eggs!! All went well today!

Here my plain Easter egger
400

Her face still looks pinkish..but she's getting close to point of lay...I don't think Guy knows where his eggs were coming from..LOL
Her comb won't get big like your rir but her face will get red when she's ready.
All you have to do is feel the bones around her rear end...if they are close
Together she's not ready...if there's a space for an egg to pass...egg time is near.

Great pics.. my kids love to hold mine too...against their will of course.
She's a beautiful bird...and most needs are mutts...I enjoy mine no Matter whatcha
Call them

OK! LOL this is what went down. Guy pulls up at the front of the property where our house is. My dogs start their barking and as I get up to him he says "Those are some big dogs!" "Are they" I say. He asks me. "How do you keep them from killing the chickens?" I tell him "Well first off they are never unsupervised around the chickens and they are separated by a heavy gauge 8ft chain link fence covered 6ft up in chicken wire and surrounded on the dogs side with electric fence." I prefer to keep them protected" All he said was..."Hu"  I asked to see pics and yes it was here. I could pick her out of the flock. He had a few pics and I was almost to the point off horrified. The pics he had were of his coops and set up and the chickens were in the pic as well. He had two med sized coops sat in the middle of what looked to be an acre...he said two. You could count the blades of grass on one hand even if you were a victim of an accident involving losing fingers!! He seemed very proud of his set up. Scattered over the "field" were small raised platforms the chickens could get under and each one had a hanging feeder. Did I mention there was not one tree or bush? The coops seemed ok and each chicken door was open to allow them to go in and out. But if you had seen the wide shot of his place you could tell there were 100's!!!! of chickens!! All just standing there. I cant imagine the mucky mess that place must be with no grass and the rain we have had. I can see bunches of chicks covered in muck standing butt deep in it. I was horrified by the pics as he was standing there all proud telling me that every one of them was still laying..(how would he know if some did not lay?) And that they were all fed non GMO feed. No scraps, no scratch just what was in the feeders. Anyway im fuming but have to be nice. I walk him over to the flock and poor Big Chicken. They must have decent memories because she was in the yard scratching through the wet grass happy as can be. As she saw me she stopped to keep her eye on me but as soon as she saw him she made a bee line under the porch and started  making that growly noise she makes. After a few moments she made a run for it at from a distance stood and watched us. "OH WOW!!!" He says. I cant believe its her." How in the heck did she end up so far away?"  I asked him if he would consider selling her to me but he said "No, she is one of the prettiest birds I have but I brought a bag of feed for your trouble" Oh geesh...is it normal to fight back tears over a chicken that's only been around 2 weeks and hates you?
So I gather myself and tell him. "Well, you are welcome to go in and get her" I have things to do. "What...you wont help me get her?" No..sorry but I have spent enough time on her."  And inside I went. Course I was peeking out the window. He spent some time trying to get her...and I thought it was justice to see him a few time hit a mushy spot and sink in. "After a few min he came to the door and asked me if he could try getting her in the coop and shutting the door. I told him I had duckling in there right now and no it would get them spooked. He trudged back out. Few min later back he comes...now he is a muddy mess lol. He asks if he can come back at night and get her out of the coop after she roosts. "Sorry" I say. Soon as dusk hits and the chickens are in the coop the dogs have full run of the place to keep the critters out. I have kids and things to do as well. Cursing under his breath he heads back out. I sure wish I had thought at the time to video this lol. A grown man chasing a chicken through the brush and trees in the mud. And im sure Big Chicken was looking for the muddiest spots to make him run through. But all I could do is watch and try to remember to breathe. Finally he can to the door one last time. He was very red in the face and I was a little scared lol. He told me in much worse words that I could keep the(BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEPing) chicken. He had a few not so nice words for me as well as he headed for his car. But I dint care!!! I was worried that Big Chicken would be right back where she started but when I went out to the flock after he pulled out she ran right back in the yard. I gave them all some treats and made sure Big Chicken got a nice piece of cinnamon toast!!
SHE IS HOME!!!!

Thank you everyone!! Im partial to her lol. As for the breed I don't know much about them cept I was told....If it has a butt its a mutt...LOL. Her eyes are a real pretty almost red color. Any ideas on the color other than her white?? I call it tan..Guy called it "gold"

Ameraucanas are lovely birds. I have one and I love her. She's not that people friendly but she'll eat out of my hand. Her eggs are gorgeous and taste amazing. She's had some health problems including worms, missing feathers (from her old home), and lately she's been giving me shell less eggs. She LOVES food and gets kind of aggressive when fed around the others. Not towards the other chickens, but think of a soccer player trying to get the ball. Just really pushy and wants it first. She'll stop at nothing to get the food off them. She never pecks or hurts them though. She's the bottom of the pecking order.

I think Big Chicken is moving up in the flock a bit!! I have one tiny little Bantam Cochin roo that chases her off lol. But this morning I saw her chase another little roo off his bread. The only thing is my main Rooster still chases her off?? I wonder if I removed him for a day or too and just let the girls hang out then put him back if it would change anything?? I know sometimes if you remove an overly "top hen" for a bit things change up a bit and she usually settles down.
