My chicken laid an egg today i want her to hatch it should i remove it until there are more? I see her peck at it occasionally

Your hen won't hatch any eggs unless she goes broody. Not all hens will go broody, most have had the urge bred out of them. So you need a broody hen first, than some eggs. What breed is she? I wouldn't leave any eggs unless she's a reliably broody hen.

I have not heard of that breed. I did look it up. It looks similar to a game. She may eventually go broody. I don't know where you are located. Most go broody during spring and summer, so depending on where you are and what season you are in can dictate when she will go broody.

You can collect the eggs and store them up to 10 days at 30 degrees rotated daily to see if she eventually goes broody. Stored longer and the fertility will decrease.

She is game, its winter time over here. Thanks for your help

I would leave an egg or two in the nest (dummy eggs will work). Remove her eggs as she lays them. It is only necessary to remove eggs if they may be excessively chilled or frozen. Keep them inside at moderate temperature and humidity, and turn daily. When/if she goes broody return as many eggs as she can cover using the freshest. Storing eggs at 65/70 F and approximately 50 % humidity, I have maintained viability up to 21 days.
