Chicken laying in box all day.

She is 30 weeks and has been laying regularly. Not sure what is going on . I'm very concern. She looks healthy and gets mad when I bother her. Any ideas why she is acting this way. Thanks

She is probably just broody. That means that her hormones are telling her to hatch babies, hence her staying in the nest, and getting angry when you get close.

I'm thinking she might be to. I felt her abdoment and she felt normal, no swelling? Maybe baby chick's are coming. Thanks

Lol, wait a min she lays the eggs then sits on them she doesn't give birth to chicks, or pop out the eggs then they hatch right away. She will sit on eggs for 21 days to hatch the chicks if you don't have a rooster to fertilize the eggs then they won't hatch and there will be no baby in them.

I have a rooster, so I'll keep checking her and I'll mark the eggs and the calendar. I've been noticing her eggs have been fertile. They have a bullseye in the yolk. Thank you
