Help!
How do I go about changing chicken law in my county in Wisconsin. We have 10 + acres that are of concern are not allowed to have 1 chicken!

Maybe I've missed something on this thread but city ordinances on the number of chickens allowed may have nothing to do with chicken housing.

As an example: a city allows 1 chicken per 2,000 square feet of property. A 100' by 100' lot (10,000 square feet) could have 5 chickens, one might think.

However, in a separate ordinance, a structure for housing the chickens cannot be sited anywhere closer than 90' from a property line. The exact center of that property is only 50' from a property line.

No structure on the property would be legal for the housing of chickens.

I say this because one of the cities in my part of the world has these 2 ordinances but only the number of chickens on a lot appears in the LORE information.

Steve, We tried to verify that all setback requirements stated in the ordinances had been captured; but in-between all the legalese, I'm sure some were inadvertantly missed, either in the submission process or validation process. If you would please let us know which city ordinances are incorrect, we can correct the L.O.R.E. Thank you for bring this to our attention.​

I raised chickens in Sweetwater TX. There city code is that they must be contained. I never had any problems there. lisa

This was a great idea (too bad I missed out on the contest *sniffle*) I submitted my town of Statesville, NC. There doesn't seem to be any ordinances for either the city or the county (Iredell).

Found out in Unincorporated Jefferson County Alabama, If you do not have a zone of A-1 or other agriculture zones, you can only own dogs and cats as domesticated animals. We are having to get a variance for my 3/4 acre land to keep my geese, goats, and soon to be chickens.
