Max, were your cucumbers always cucumbers, or did they have to mature into lovebugs? I'm not sure what I could have done differently with mine, I fawned over them. I'd love them to want to be held.
ETA: What breed are cuddly chickens? I have an OEGB who will put up a half-hearted struggle, then let me lift her and stay with me until I put her down with no resistance. The others are orps, an australorp and wyadottes

My australorps and wyandottes are not cuddly. My EE, a polish, one of our Buff Orps and the sultan pullet will all love on us, and let us hold them or pack them around. My five year old son prefers the sultan over his toys - she's more his size - and the feeling is completely mutual.

Shaver reds are cuddly, but the MOST cuddly are production reds...i have one i got as a replacement for a BR i lost to a hawk, i got her as a tiny chick and put her under a broody hen. she didnt like it very well under her and preferd to stay with me, also the broody hen didnt like her very well. so i made a little brooder for her (just a box with a 60W bulb for heat) she would cry if i wasnt there by her and she wouldnt eat out of a small tray i had for her either, only my hand. when she discovered she had wings she used them quite well! instead of crying, she flew out of the box and ran to find me and when she found me she flew up on my sholder! shes 8 months old now and every time i open the door of the coop, she flys up to me. ever since i got her she has been following me EVERYWHERE and if i stop, she flys up on my sholder and wants to be petted and hugged.
her name is "chickinzie" and the first 4 days when she started to lay she laid 2 pullet eggs for me a day lol.
