I don't kiss any animals...personal choice because I'm worried about any germs. I don't mind if other people do.

I do love to hug and pet animals, including chickens. Having a big, cuddly rooster is the best.

The RIR's, SLW's, and BJG weren't quite as lovey to start. They still aren't as gushing over with affection as the buffs either. However compared with the birds some of my friends have, they’re much friendlier. But the buff’s are the ones really sloppin’ over with love. They’re the ones who when you’re sitting in the chair or out of the lawn when they free range that come over and crowd under your arm or peck you till you pick them up.

I meant to say that the ones who "don’t like it" aren’t mean or belligerent about it. It’s more like a mother kissing her 13 year old son sort of “don‘t like it.”

I hug and kiss my chickens every day! I have a cinder block in the run where I sit when I get a chance to get out there and they all come running from under the pine tree to come see me. I like to hand feed them their scraps too. Bonding with your chickens is a good thing - unless they have to go to the butcher.

And it is not gross.

BTW, my mom doesn't allow them in the house though. As much as I would like it, she'd kill me if I brought one in for anything other than HUGE injury.

I handle my chooks every day so they become easier to handle! My roo was very bonded to me, but now he's a teen and he gets annoyed if I hug him in front of his girlies!!

It's funny! If they aren't around, he settles in for a snuggle; if they show up, its all squawk and flap until I put him down!! Teen boys are teen boys with or without feathers!!!

If your girl doesn't understand your chicken thing - she doesn't understand you very well...... Just my humble ......yeah whatever.
