Hi everyone,My name is Pat and I am from West Monroe, NY, upstate NY, north of Syracuse NY.... My chickens are just 14 weeks today I have 36 of them., Rhode Island reds, Wyandottes,Americana's,Barred rocks, black sex link chickens. I have raised them since they were all only a couple days old.
I did not think I would be this into these chickens. I love just watching them go about their business in the yard. We just started to let them run free. We have 4 roosters and we were to only have 3 so one got into the mix some how. so far all is good.
The funny thing is, towards evening my husband just to be funny started to crow like a rooster and all the chickens and roosters all came running into the coop, it was the funniest thing, must be he will be the alpha rooster until one takes over...lol.
Now I can't wait until the egg laying begins. We also have pigs, a calf and 2 dogs. My kids are grown up so the chickens can take their place..hahaha.
And by the way. Back Yard Chickens has given me some great information!
