Welcome to the BYC family! It is a mystery about your girl. Does she do it all the time or just when she's stressed? My smallest hen makes a worry sound when the largest hens pick on her. I hope it's nothing serious. Good luck with her.

Honestly, I am dumfounded by all the newbie welcome posts and lack of experience posts. I have little to post, but some experience. Keep in mind I am in no way claiming I have a clue because your chicken is not in my hands. You may need to siphon or massage the crop. It sounds like she ingested what she should not. You may be able to rub it out. Hold her upside down, rub crop and neck, when object is visible scrape it out.

She wasn't making much noise today, not like yesterday and less head shaking and plenty of eating/drinking. I can hope this continues. Maybe all the rubbing and olive oil soaked bread moved it down, whatever it was. No mucus, dull eyes, nuthin'

Especially because in my area, there are no vets to ask advice from, they are mostly horsey and cat/dog. And as much as I like the internet for information, there are so many opinions out there, your head can spin.
