What breed(s) did you get? I am getting bantams so they are even smaller. I'm just so nervous about the cold but Ideal let me change this week's arrival to next week at least. It was below 0 today so it wouldn't have been good at all. I think next week is heading up into the low 30s.

I ordered the bantam cochin special, and it was definitely below zero. Earlier this week we were having highs of -6 degrees yet the chicks look great!

I think I should have waited to order chicks. It is so cold and I feel selfish for ordering because I wanted chicks 14 chicks lost their lives.

How many total did you order the first time? I know you received some replacements. What was your temp and how long did they take to get to you? I'm still debating whether to risk a shipment next week. Worried about it.

ordered 25. The first one shipped the 16th got here the 18th. Temps were below freezing at night. 2nd batch the same way took 2 days and below freezing at night.

25 Assorted Bantams came in healthy Now tell me what kind they are please...lol

So many chicks.
I ordered 25 dutch, but unsure how many were actually in there. There were so many little fuzzybutts!
Only one was off, I think it might have gotten trampled, it was doing a spinning/falling over thing and had to be culled. So many blues and fancy colored ones. Very excited for my banty layers!

Got mine today to. There appeared to be a few extras. I think they sent some males for warmth and comfort. They all appear to be just fine though I did have to wake a few up and help them over to the water. Looks like a nice selection.
