Chicken math

I got a maybe for one turkey for next spring, but I have to convince her that we can eat something we raised first lol. Got me a bunch of extra cockerels this spring we have to do something with from this springs batch. The kids are down haha

With my new coop is set up for 35 chickens, so come next spring the cackle surprise will be mine! I figure that will fill up my quota for pullets, and give me something to fill the freezer with in one fell swoop

Ah, I had an easy time with that part lol. Though, I'll be the one uh....dispatching the chickens (I feel it'll only be right, since I'll be the one taking care of them). The larger fowl and animals he can do (I don't want to wrestle with something that's the size of my torso or larger lol). He's already agreed to it....which makes me happy, because I'd sooner eat my dog than wrestle a goose....they scare the crap out of me XD (but when it comes to foraging and protecting the property from unwanteds, they're hard to beat)

I'm going to be handling those little buggers a lot as little ones. Because as soon as I get chased across the yard by a 20-some pound angry bird, it's going to be dinner XD

I love turkeys, though. I used to feed wild turkeys when I was a kid, and they got semi-tame. It was awesome.

You can always say that you could not SEE what they were putting in the box and when you got home WOW someone really messed up.

WWWWOOOOO HHHHOOOOOO!!!!!! Imma call Cackle and ask them to give you a bunch of Seabright roosters next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
