I wish, but that will be irresponsible ha ha, maybe take off the two 00 since we have minimum regulation.

@pioneerchick816 I got 20++ layers right now and 13 six week olds in the brooder, and picking maybe 6 or more tomorrow, the store just informed me they have 12 different breeds of 1 day olds.

My most recent order of chicks will be at the feedstore this Friday! I have four RIR's, and 4 BR pullets coming. The following Friday, I'll have my 3 BO's. Then, the first Friday in April, I'll have my 10 EE! Chicken math at it's best. I'll probably figure something else out that I need between then and now. :)

I had actually never been around chickens until I moved in with my now husband. I was a city girl my whole life. He had 10 white Leghorn's and a rir. We now have 8 heavy breeds, 4 Japanese bantam, 3 silkie, 2 serama, 41 eggs in the incubator and 13 chicks in the brooder. Needless to say I quickly fell in love with those fluffy butts.

another city person fell into chicken hoarding lol ...ditto

Chicken math is easy. My plan was to slowly (over 3 years) build a flock to 18 hens and then buy 6 started pullets and cull 6 oldest birds each year to keep them young and productive. I started with 8 last year, 3 died bringing me down to 5. I'm hen sitting 2 older birds for a friend while she moves...that makes 7. There are 25 one week old chicks living in my garage and I have plans for 25 cornish X this summer.
