I am a mixed chick. My mom has some sebright, after that it is a huge mix up as both my parents were mutts also!

Genetically Diverse and loaded with Hybrid Vigor, I will grow to be strong and healthy and bring Joy to my peeps! I am Chicken! Hear me Chirp!! Lol Great post Kendy!!

There are several varieties that have the fm pigmentation silkie and Sumatra are two of the more popular here, many are from the orient or India. I don't know a lot about genetics at all, just the very narrow part I deal with in my flock.

Isn't that most of us? Ask me about barring or egg color or BBS or even BWS and I can sound like a Geneticist. Ask me about much else and I'm an idiot...Lol

She is now nearly two months old and just as cute as can be! She has a full sister a week younger that looks completely different. lol, bard yard guessing! Her and her sister are being raised with some full bred sebrights, you can sure tell the mutts rule the pack!

Hi!
I'm new here but recently rescued a little mutt bantam hen from being snake food. She's incredibly tame and friendly but had no previous human contact/handling (was not hand raised or anything like that). It seems unusual she should be SO friendly but all she wants to do is be handled, pet, cuddled, whatever. She hangs out on my shoulder or lap for hours making weirdo robot noises... anyway - I have NO idea what she is, she's tiny (perches on my finger, like that tiny) like a Sebright, but her markings aren't right. So I think she is a mutt?
She's awesome whatever she is!
(and yep, she has a coop with a covered run outside, she just has a fit if I don't let her come in the house and spend time with me!!)

Got some good Pics of our BCM mixed Flock leader.

I've got other Roosters I paid good money for. This guy popped up on our local FB swap page "needing a new home" and my GF wanted him. Yup...he is our one and only "freebie" chicken.
I wouldn't trade him for all the others.
Every night he gets on this stump and calls the free range flock in. Watches over them diligently during the day , treats his ladies great, is tolerant of the "lesser" Roosters but also keeps them in line.
Can I just walk up and pick him up with no fuss? NO, but I don't have to chase him down and corner him either.

"Big Red" is what a rooster SHOULD be, not what some standard calls for,what nature calls for.
