Chicken name help?

Well, my two "hen" chicks last spring were named Hilary and Olivia. By the time they were five weeks old, I was sure that Olivia was an Oliver. So that name can be changed. The next "pullet" we got, to take Oliver's place, was named Marshmallow, which is good for either male or female, although if he were human I'm sure he'd rather not be called Marshmallow. Chickens don't really seem to care about their names though. Marshmallow turned out to be a roo, as well.

Good luck with it and please let us know what names you come up with.

Oh that's funny! Oliver is a great name. My house chicken is a white Silkie, named Fuzz. I have Silkie chicks hatching now. LoL should I name them? There's too many.

Her feathers make me think she's some sort of silver-lace. You can tell if she's going to the "roo-side" if the comb above the beak (between her eyes) get large. Also, roosters have an extra toe that sort of sticks out the back, rather high up. I had a golden silkie I named Priscilla - when "she" stuck her beak in the air and crowed, I renamed her Presley. You may want to be flexible with a name, something that can convert to girl/boy as needed. I didn't do that with another silkie - now a roo named "Sweetness" - he's anything but! I've found baby books are great. Sometimes their personality requires a name - I have a Picaso, Rembrandt and a "New Roo" named appropriately NuRoo. Goddess names can sometimes be converted - Aphrodite becomes Apollo ... the sky's the limit!!

its called a spur.

How about Sassy for the one with the big feet that is brave---you know, short for Sasquatch, the other name for Big Foot!
