Chicken Names- whats your chickens name?

It came from one of the old Foghorn Leghorn cartoons with Miss Prissy. Clara Cluck is a hen in the hen house sitting on a nest, knitting for her expected babies. The name was on a plaque over her nest. If I remember correctly, the other hens made fun of Miss Prissy and laughed at her. Golden Laced Wyandottes are beautiful birds, and since I had a beautiful but airheaded Quaker grandmother named Clara who sat around, looking prim and proper, much like an old hen, I thought the name quite suitable.
Quite suitable indeed. Love the story.

No, never. She got dubbed that name because she's a few cards short of a full deck. As she was growing up she would be with the flock and she was so distracted she would never notice them move to a new spot. When she did finally notice she would bawk and bawwwwk and bawwwk like a lunatic until she found them. We always said if it wasnt' for us she would have been some critter or other persons supper. She's a sweetheart by nature, just a little off :)
