A big, bad rooster - Gregory Peck
My beautiful BR rooster - Maestro (he started out as Matilda)
My big, blousy Light Brahma - Blossom
My tiny little Black Sex Link who died very young - Demelza

I'll tell you my chickens names and take this a step or two further...you can see how random my other pets are named and we ALL know that no self respecting beloved pet goes with out a NICKNAME!

1) male French Bulldog from Germany, named Emil when we got him. to us he has always been "hefty" as he was a big baby. however he is also known as catfish, heiffer,

2) Emil's half brother, also from Germany. named Linus as their father was Schroeder. my son called him CowCow as he was white with black spots. he them became known as Nugget (chip off the ol' block, chip became nugget)

3) female frenchie i pulled from euthanasia...i wanted to call her clementine and we fought over her name for weeks (werent going to keep her...you know the drill) during that time the fergie song "fergaliscious" was out and my older son said lets call her fergie. well my husband said thats a stripper name...might as well call her Hot Chocolate. UGH. and it stuck. GRRRR. so they started calling her Hottie which i hated and then SHE morphed it into NAUGHTY, all on her own. two years later, still NAUGHTY.

4) female jack russell, love of my life, named whimsy. aka whimsical, noodle, doodle, doodlebug, bug, bugsy

5) female jack russell, sierra. i got her at a year old and all i could think of was that Ciera hip hop song that started "Ciera...this beat is..." ive always called her sara, sara bear

6) female jack russell, envy. her grandmother was named Evita and her registered name is Inevitable...so she became Envy. it sooo fits her. we call her veeders, as that was her grandmothers nickname.

7) female jack russell, Slip. i saw her at a dog show and adored her, asked about the pup. they said she was actually an adult, just very small. i was in love. every show after that i asked about her. 2 years later they gave her to me. i thought her name was Slip because she was so tiny. turns out her her grandmother was tater, her mama was yam, and she was slip. (im told that is an undeveloped sweet potato root) my sons call her slippers.

the parakeets are all rescues, el tigre was named because o tiger like stripes on her wings...she is such an ornery old thing! sunny is yellow...he hit a window and his owner didnt want to pay a vet bill to euthanize so i took him home, brain damage i think but he gets around okay. Bloo came to our clinic from petco, his id band had been put on too tight and he chewed off his own foot in pain. i pestered the boss to save him and his leg was amputated. let me just say, bandaging a leg and keeping a bandage on a parakeets leg is no small task! now he is happy and gets around better than the other two. Marv is our only normal bird, whistling machine!

and the chicks...........well, we are only keeping 3-4 females. so far they are known as spotty chick and waffle. the other two dont have names..................yet.

Hey dastardlydeed! We have Jack Russells too! They are also rescues, named Wicket and Willow.
(Hmm.... maybe not the best breed to keep with chickens, but...

)
