Curiously, what lengths do they have? Those of you who have given chicken injections---what length needle do you generally recommend? I see TSC has the 20g in several different lengths.
TIA.
I use a 1" 22 for IM and subcutaneous injections on most birds, and a 1" 25 for banties and chicks. It's been years since I used penicillin, so not sure if it's too thick for a 22.
It only goes in 1/4 inch so get 1/4 to 1/2 inch length. Whatever you get, just insert it 1/4 inch. Procaine penicillin should not be given orally-- it is only for intramuscular injection.
Curiously, what lengths do they have?![]()
Thanks! Do you know that I have never seen anything shorter than 1" (except for insulin needles)? Here's the page I got with a search---looks like they have 16g to 22g, 1/2" to 1.5."
