Hello and welcome to BYC. We have our chicks as pets too. We handled the chickens daily since day 1 and I have 8 lap chickens.

CHICK UPDATE- Went chicken shopping yesterday and now am thinking about SILVER LACED WYANDOTTES as well as the BARRED ROCKS. Maybe a Rock Rooster (LOVE the Rooos!) and 2 Rock hens & 2 Silver Laced hens. Wanna keep things small so figure 5 is manageable for now, as they will not be free range (small shed with large run).
SO...... Anybody??? Good... bad.... about the SILVER LACED????? I want lap chickens!!!
