I would do as much as research as possible to find out what the cause might of been that killed your chickens if you are unsure. That way you are sure to prevent it in your new flock.

Why did all your chickens die? Was it predators? Disease? Knowing the cause of your first mistakes will be key in learning how to prevent the same mistakes in the future.

Do you have pictures of your coop? Might be a good idea to sanitize inside and out, every crack and corner. Painting the interior can help prevent mites from burrowing in the wood... mites left untreated are very capable of wiping out an entire flock.
