Or an incriminating thing. A picture of a dead dog covered in blood (and it's by no means always evident what the blood came from, the dog or the prey), is not exactly something I'd try to use to garner support from a dog loving community. I'd be very careful with things like that.

When I talked to the sheriff about my neighbors dogs, and how they attack my chickens, one of the things he encouraged me to do (besides shoot them) was to take pictures of the dead dog showing that it was on my property. Plus any damage they might have done.

Jody I know this was asked at the start & so pardon me for asking again but I just can't remember doesn't this "city" have lease laws too??? I mean I understand that this guy shot off a fire arm etc. but there has to be some kind of control over these loose running dogs. That would indeed be a solution.... The idea that the dog owner is going to continue to allow the other dog to run loose I just found mind boggling. I have to say I'm a dog lover but it's because of that I just can't imagine allowing these dogs to run reckless abandon?

It will be interesting to see what happens with all this.

Yes, there is a leash law. The same officer that didn't know that it was legal to protect your property even in the city limits and that a dog can be legally shot for for harassing livestock did not seem to be aware of the ability to write a ticket for loose dogs.

Well, the evidence was for the authorities, not the general public. Only the sheriff and the dog's owner need to see the pictures.

Waiting...Today's the day, right?

Yes, today is the day, but my guess is that those of us on the east coast of the U.S. won't hear anything until this evening.
I am dying to see how this pans out!
I am especially looking forward to hearing Mr. Harris' side of the story.

I would like to thank Jody for being so proactive, and on keeping us informed with however much info she has. Thanks!
