citrusdreams, I don't understand. I've seen MoTownChickie's posts on other threads. Why do you think that person is a troll? It doesn't seem that she is looking for a fight, just commenting the way the rest of us do. I don't see any spitefulness there. What am I missing?

I checked the user list and MoTownChickie is a member of this group and has been since April.

We don't all have to agree, but we should all be nice, more or less. I'm hedging because I've been angered by the way some other people have acted on other threads. It really makes me mad when they turn crybaby and try to get the moderators to close the thread so that no one can say anything they don't like. We all should try to live and let live and there will always be differences of opinion. For example, some people really like the idea of SSS and others are appalled.

A lot of time, money and dedication goes into raising a flock. If you feel your flock is like part of your family then you should protect it as the same.

Yes Saddina I understood very clearly that she was just showing us a post from the tv station forum. It is clear it was her intent to illustrate these ranting raving lunatics that are also parading around on our site.

She is not a troll, but I read the forum for about an hour and started to get a headache. It was very clear that there were 3 or more of our members there by their writing style. It was also clear that these members do NOT even own chickens and they just come here to argue on a daily basis. I have been aware of them since I have come on here. They never offer advice in the disease, and illness, or post any chicken related posts that are not somewhat political. Most are bullies looking for a fight for whatever is lacking in their life. I am sure our moderators are aware of this also, but try to give them the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes I don't even think they care about the cause they are pushing just a reason to argue.

After reading all 27 pages, I was floored by the responses! Particuarly Jody, she has done a good job updating and giving us some insights on the parties involved.

It would be a very LONG wait to see how this turned out. I sure hope Mr Harris' charges would be dropped or lesser degree of charges filed against him (if any).

I must say, the dog should not have been loose to begin with and the owner should have maintained visual and hearing sight of the dog and not let the dog wandered off course.

Yes, I consider them the troll patrol. Whenever they're not here, I just assume they are off feeding the bears or taking their untrained dogs for an unsupervised run on somebody else's property.

That seems sensible, even though it may irritate a person. Of course stray dogs should stay off your property, but they are going to come on if you set the poor chickens out as bait. I believe the point is that you shouldn't have to fence in your property, but it would be wise to do so.

Remember it's not just dogs, it's other things too.

I hate idiots too, but we're supposed to be civil and not imply that anyone on here is one. You should read some of the other threads! There was one today about a woman that fed bears and encouraged them to come around and they ended up killing a bunch of her neighbor's turkeys. Now that's an idiot.

The dog that caused all of this was not a stray, just off lease. Also Mr. Harris had his chickens in a coop, he should not have to fence in his entire yard and should have the right to protect his property.

I tried to connect with you with gentle humor sometimes that is hard to convey in written form. I'm sorry you were offended, but generally you are probably quick to offend, aren't you?

Yes I am the spelling police, not the grammar police and I usually check pretty carefully. I'll call "yorself" a keyboard malfunction.

I think the coop refers to the little chicken house and the run refers to the fenced yard that some people make for their chickens.
