Mr. Harris, It's been stated that your now a member of BYC. Welcome and good luck with your situation. My advice to you is this: If I were you I'd read through all of the posts on the Predator and Pest forum. The advice that is freely given on SSS, the shooting of hawks, the use of fly poison and antifreeze to poison dogs, soaking sponges with bacon grease so the dogs eat it and get blocked up, telling a 13 year old to use a shotgun, not a pellet gun, etc etc. etc. Read through the posts for yourself. Then ask yourself this question. With a possible trial coming up and with public scrutiny, various animal rights organizations that may look into your case, etc etc. and look to slander you is this something you want to be a part of at this time?? It's been freely stated that you are now a member. When I emailed the prosecuter's office I got email confirmations from about 20 people saying they had read my email or a few that deleted without reading or thier mailbox was full, but it was amazing the amount of folks one email went to. I would think at this point someone has been assigned or asked to look into BYC as many BYC members have emailed thier support of you to the paper and the prosecuter. I know if a were in charge I'd have someone check out what all the folks showing an interest in the case are coming from. I also now when you google various topics on shooting dogs, and similar topics etc etc BYC references come up time after time . I can see the prosecutors office, and any of a number of animal rights groups using this to slander you and make your life difficult. Good luck to you. and to my fellow BYC members we have to stop and think about what we are typing, what we are allowing here because we surely do not live in a bubble. I think I got through that without being rude to anyone. I think it's contrary to what many are saying, but not inflamatory. Peace, Keystonepaul

Most state you have the right to shoot predators(dogs too)

I can't wait to hear how it went . . . I'm willing to say that anything less than an acquittal and a public apology from that Gapp fellow will leave me dissatisfied, though I wouldn't hold out any hope on that latter part.

actually paul does offer a very valid point here. Some of our methods to the general public are appalling. Most people have no clue where their food really comes from, let alone what backyard producers have to put up with just trying to provide for their own family.

there are methods used here that I personally wouldn't use, but I don't judge, that is God's job, not mine. The press reading into this with a narrow focus (like they are want to do when it suits their story) could turn 35,000 supportive people into 35,000 chicken nuts who are prime examples of how wrong he could have been. Personally I don't believe any of that but............

Before everyone jumps on keystonepaul, really look at this as the devil's advocate and remember... a case like this can really effect those of us who've been dealing with predation issues.
