I am new here and realized I should have started my own thread question. So I did called Wound Care Help Please. I posted some pictures of the wound, quite graphic, sorry. It is bad and don't give her much chance. I was advised to remove the black, like you advised, so I did cut off most of the black and will try again tomorrow to get at it again. Surprising she is eating well and acting quite content. Poor thing. She's been a trooper with the baths, cutting, and being isolated in her own cage in the house. She is one tough hen, but the odds are very very slim she will make it. The hole is so big. I have learned a hard lesson about Flystrike and the importance of washing hens' bottoms when they get dirty.
